Professional Certification for Digital Evidence Practitioners

Digital evidence is a critical component in the fabric of our rule of law, our national security and has become a major investigative, forensic and information assurance issue. The number of practitioners involved in the collection, acquisition, examination, analysis and presentation of digital evidence is growing rapidly. It is recognized, within the law enforcement, forensic science, legal, and information assurance communities that there is no uniform standard of competence among practitioners. The recognition of this need was the impetus for creating the Digital Forensics Certification Board.
