Forensic Certification Board (DFCB)

Professional Certification for Digital Evidence Practitioners
Purpose of the DFCB
To promote trust and confidence in the Digital Forensics Profession.
Digital evidence is a critical component in the fabric of our rule of law, our national security and has become a major investigative, forensic and information assurance issue. The number of practitioners involved in the collection, acquisition, examination, analysis and presentation of digital evidence is growing rapidly. It is recognized, within the law enforcement, forensic science, legal, and information assurance communities that there is no uniform standard of competence among practitioners. The recognition of this need was the impetus for convening a meeting of subject matter experts in this area.
The next meeting of the DFCB will be at NCFS on April 24-26, 2006
